GB0LDO was activated from my home between the 27th and 29th November 2020.
Being run during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic, the choice to operate from home or at another prominent location was removed from my control. In the past the station has been run from our local Booths store in Burscough and Ormskirk Library. However, on the plus side, operating from home allowed me to operate for three days, instead on one, and from 00:00 to 23:59 each day. So it’s been swings and roundabouts.
Lancashire Day is when we celebrate all the great things about our ‘real’ county, not the administrative county that was established in 1974 and which has been tweaked ever since.
Most of the contacts made during the special event took place on the HF bands using FT8 and 2m FM.
