Well that’s a turn-up for the books. It’s 17:41 on a winter’s afternoon (25th February) and up pops VK5PO on PSKreporter confirming that he’s heard my FT8 signal on 30m – that’s over 10,000 miles as I was in the grey-line. What a shame I didn’t hear him.
No beams were involved; just a simple 32′ dog-leg long wire about 14′ off the ground this end and a resonant full wavelength Delta Loop at the other.
FT8 is going to be amazing when the next solar cycle starts.
