Derek (G7LFC) and Alison (M6COV), members of the Quantum Technology Club, are both off to Porthmadog this weekend to help run the town’s Scout JOTA (Jamboree on the Air) event.
GB6CCC will be operating from Christ Church in Coventry between 10:00 and 16:00 on the 8th September 2018.
EMF Camp 2018 was enjoyed by more than 2,500 people and we were privileged to have run an amateur radio installation entitled “Communicating around the world without the Internet”.
Whilst we were away camping this summer relaxation came in the form of crafting for Alison and, for me, operating my portable amateur radio station with some remarkable results.

Derek, G7LFC, today climbed in to the top 10% of amateur radio operators around the globe taking part in the ARRL’s International Grid Chase.
That came around quick – 1,000 contacts have been added to the log in just over nine weeks.
